Aliferis Memorial Race

The Aliferis Memorial Race is an annual event held in Alpena to honor Dr. Peter Aliferis, a dedicated local pathologist. Open to runners, walkers, and bikers of all ages and abilities, the race features multiple events including a half marathon, 5K walk/run, bike race, and a one-mile fun run.

Proceeds benefit community health initiatives such as scholarships, cancer care, and technology upgrades at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. The event, sponsored by the MyMichigan Health Foundation, aims to promote health and wellness while celebrating Dr. Aliferis’s legacy.
