Aliferis Memorial Race

The Annual Aliferis Memorial Race is a community event in Alpena that welcomes participants of all ages and abilities, including runners, walkers, and bikers. Named in honor of Dr. Peter Aliferis, a dedicated pathologist who served the community for 37 years, the race promotes health and wellness.

Proceeds from the event support the Peter Aliferis Scholarship Fund, the Cancer Center, and various patient enhancement projects at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. The race is organized by the Development Council of the MyMichigan Health Foundation, fostering community spirit and support for local health initiatives.
