Anderson Lake Backyard Ultra

Registration

The Anderson Lake Backyard Ultra takes place at the Anderson Lake West State Forest Campground in Gwinn, Michigan. Runners complete a 4.167-mile loop every hour on the hour for 24 loops; the winner is the last runner, with ties decided by final lap time. The atmosphere prioritizes fun and camaraderie over strict competition and welcomes all abilities.

The course starts at the Anderson Lake boat ramp and follows the Anderson Lake Pathway—a wide winter ski trail with some singletrack, about 289 feet of climbing per loop. Basecamp offers casual setup with seating and snacks; headlamps are required after 7 PM. Cap 60; medals for all who complete a loop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
