Event overview
The Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Run is a point-to-point ultramarathon held since 1986. The 36th annual edition is scheduled for October 3, 2026. The course covers roughly 100 miles from Wrightwood to Loma Alta Park in Altadena, with elevations ranging from about 1,135 to 9,300 feet and approximately 21,610 feet of cumulative elevation gain. AC100 is one of the original U.S. 100-mile races and is listed as a Western States qualifier and a UTMB index 100M qualifying race.
Entry, course and awards
Entry for 2026 is by lottery. The lottery opened 2025-09-19 and closed 2025-09-29; 210 spots are available through the lottery and the entrants list was published 2025-10-03. Runners must complete a 50+ mile qualifier between 2025-01-01 and 2026-09-03. Trail work is required by 2026-09-03; local alternatives are allowed for participants north of Fresno or out of state. The SOLO division does not permit pacers or crew and division changes are not allowed after signup. Refunds are 50% up until May 1 and 25% up until September 1.
The 2026 course bypasses Chantry Flats and follows an alternate route to the Mt Wilson area, including Shortcut, Redbox, Newcomb Saddle, Rincon-Redbox Road, Gabrielino Trail, Kenyon/Devore Trail, Mt Wilson and finishing at Loma Alta Park. Finishers receive a plaque and a finisher shirt; buckle awards are tiered by finish time with specific buckles for sub-24, 24 to 24:59:59, and 25 to 33 hour finishers.
