Elephant Mountain
Elephant Mountain Trail Runs, held at Cave Creek Regional Park in Arizona, offers a challenging and scenic desert trail running experience with distances ranging from 6K to 50 miles. The courses traverse single-track trails, dirt roads, and rugged terrain through the park, Maricopa Trail, Tonto National Forest, and Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area, featuring iconic desert landscapes with Saguaro cacti and rocky outcrops. The 50-mile race extends into remote backcountry areas with significant elevation gain.
Aid stations are spaced every 3-7 miles, providing hydration and snacks. The event is part of the Desert Runner Trail Series and emphasizes environmental responsibility with cupless aid stations. Runners enjoy well-marked courses, post-race food, and finisher awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
