Course and logistics
All courses use single track trails and dirt roads in Cave Creek Regional Park, the Maricopa Trail, Tonto National Forest, and Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area. Typical trail conditions include rocks, sand, cactus, and gravel. Aid stations are placed approximately every 3-7 miles and offer water, an electrolyte drink, snacks, and fruit. The event is cupless; reusable cups will be available at registration or participants may bring their own. Drop bags are allowed at Spur Cross for the 50 Mile and 50K, and an additional drop bag location is available for 50 Mile runners at Seven Springs. Crews are allowed at the start/finish, Spur Cross, and Seven Springs for specified distances. Pacers are permitted for the 50 Mile at specified aid stations; pacers were not allowed for the 50K in 2025. Course markings use colored signs and ribbon flags specific to each distance. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers at each distance and all finishers receive a finisher award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
