Course, logistics and rules
All events use a USATF-certified loop of 0.988178 miles (concrete sidewalk) around the Turf Picnic area. The loop has about 6 feet of elevation gain per lap and a maximum elevation of 923 feet. A fully stocked aid station is located on course and will operate 24 hours with prepared meals and staple items; a water refill station is on the opposite end of the loop. Timing mats are on each lap at the timing tent north of the aid station. An onsite EMT is provided for the duration of the event. Parking at the park carries a $7 per car per day entry fee.
Pacers are not permitted. Crew access and personal drop bags are allowed in a designated area; for the USATF championship, crew tents must remain within 100 meters of the main aid station. Camping is available for a fee approximately 400 feet from the course. Runners change direction every six hours. Course rules include no cutting inside cones on curves and chip return procedures for those who stop early. Lighting is not provided on course at night; runners should bring personal illumination.
