Event overview
The Whiskey Basin Trail Runs take place in Prescott, Arizona, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, with races centered at Watson Lake Park. Distances offered are:
- 92K
- 60K
- 33K
- Half-Marathon
- 10K
All distances finish at Watson Lake Park with the Granite Dells rock formation visible from the finish. The 92K course follows the full Prescott Circle Trail around the city as a point-to-point loop. Shorter races use sections of the Prescott Circle Trail and also finish at Watson Lake.
Course and logistics
Terrain includes desert trails, pine and juniper forests, gravel paths, single track, technical granite rock, and rocky scrambles. Aid stations are placed along courses at regular intervals (ranges vary by distance) and provide water, ice, an electrolyte drink (Gnarly Fuel 2O), and sweet and salty snacks and fruit. Organizers do not stock gels, and this is a cupless event so runners should bring a reusable cup. Drop bags are allowed for the 92K at Iron Springs, Goldwater, and the finish; shorter distances have a drop bag area at the start/finish. Crews and pacers are restricted by distance: pacers are permitted only for the 92K and only from Goldwater Lake, and certain aid stations allow crew access. Camping is available at Watson Lake Park with 35 sites reserved through registration for the race weekend; sites are first come, first served. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
