The Around Cape Ann Half Marathon is a USATF-sanctioned half marathon (13.1 miles) held in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The race has been held since 1933 and follows a course that wraps around Cape Ann’s coastline, passing through the seaside villages of Gloucester and Rockport and offering views of beaches, harbors and coves. The event is open to ages 18 and older.
Race logistics and services
Parking and race-day packet pickup are located at O'Maley Middle School, 32 Cherry Street, Gloucester. Free shuttle buses transport participants about 3 miles to the starting area at Good Harbor Beach. Bag check at the starting line is self-service; the organizer is not liable for losses. There are six on-course aid stations, located near miles 2, 3.5, 5, 6.5, 9 and 11.5, and a restroom is available near mile 6. The event offers GPS runner tracking via RaceJoy. Per the race information, awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in five-year age groups and gun times are used for scoring. Registered participants receive items such as a finisher medal, choice of M/F race shirt, armband phone holder, race bag, finish line refreshments and free race photos.
