Event overview
The Around Cape Ann Half Marathon is a road race scheduled for October 19, 2025 in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The event is a half marathon distance (13.1 miles) and is open to ages 18 and older. The course wraps around Cape Ann and passes through the seaside villages of Gloucester and Rockport, with views of beaches, harbors and coves. The race has operated as the Around Cape Ann Road Race since 1933. It is a USATF sanctioned event and the course is USATF certified for the half marathon distance.
Logistics and race features
The finish area and parking are at O'Maley Middle School, 32 Cherry Street, Gloucester. Free shuttle buses transport participants to the starting area at Good Harbor Beach, about 3 miles from the finish. Bib and race shirt pickup is at O'Maley School on race day only, before using the shuttles. Roads on course remain open to traffic and are monitored by local police; runners are asked to stay to the side of the road.
On-course support includes six aid stations with water near miles 2, 3.5, 5, 6.5, 9 and 11.5, plus a restroom near mile 6. Race services listed include finisher medals, race shirts, on-course hydration and nutrition, free race photos, GPS runner tracking via RaceJoy, age-group awards, and finisher certificates.
