Athens Academy Spartan 5K and Spartan Sprint
The event takes place on January 31, 2026, at 1281 Spartan Lane, Athens, GA 30606. It includes these events:
- Spartan 5K
- Spartan Sprint (an untimed fun run for children across the campus)
- Phantom Runner
Standard registration is $25. Prices increase after January 16, 2026. Registration for the Phantom Runner ends January 16, 2026.
Race details and awards
Packet pickup and race day registration are held in the Tilman Center. The starting line is approximately 1 mile from packet pickup; buses transport participants to the start. RFID chip timing is used and finishline management and timing are provided by Classic Race Services. The race may be delayed in 15-minute increments for storms; there are no refunds for inclement weather.
Awards are handmade pottery by r.wood studio. Awards are given to overall male and female, masters male and female, and male and female age groups in 5-year increments: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75 and over.
