Athens Big Fork Trail Marathon

The Athens Big Fork Trail Marathon & 17 Mile Fun Run, held annually in Mena, Arkansas, features a challenging out-and-back course on the Athens-Big Fork trail starting and ending at the Big Fork Community Center. The marathon includes climbing eight mountains twice, with approximately 7,000 feet of cumulative elevation gain, making it suitable only for experienced trail and ultra-runners.
