Event overview

Atheon is a rucking endurance event held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 in Ashland City, Tennessee at 2150 Sams Creek Road. The event uses a predetermined loop of about 2.5 miles with roughly 800 feet of elevation gain. Competitors complete repeated laps under a one-hour time limit per lap. The event continues until only one competitor remains; that final competitor must complete a concluding lap to claim victory.

Format, rules and logistics

Competitors stage from assigned 10x10 canopy spaces. Early arrival for camping and setup is permitted beginning the Friday before the event. Corral officials monitor progress by bib number and a visible timing clock is displayed at the Start/Finish area. Course officials and volunteers are placed at key points along the route. Basic aid stations and restroom facilities are available, but competitors must be self-supported on course and may not receive external assistance.

Mandatory gear includes a ruck with specified dry weight: 30 lb for males and 20 lb for females; weights must be clearly marked and verified before the event. Prohibited items include trekking poles, weighted vests, plate carriers, or other non-back-distributed weight equipment. Any participant not back in the corral within the lap time limit receives a DNF; if no one returns in time, the event will have no winner. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
