About the race
AthHalf Half Marathon & AthFest Educates 5K is a running weekend in Athens, Georgia, produced by the nonprofit AthFest Educates. The event features the AthFest Educates 5K on Saturday and the AthHalf Half Marathon on Sunday, with a Health & Fitness Expo as part of the weekend. The Half Marathon winds through Athens’ historic districts, downtown, and the University of Georgia campus, with local Athens bands performing along the course to boost the atmosphere.
The 5K starts at the Classic Center Pavilion and explores downtown and the Boulevard neighborhood, finishing with a live band to celebrate. Proceeds support music and arts education for local K–12 youth, and residents cheer runners along the way. A virtual option is also available.
