The event is organized by the Georgia Ultrarunning and Trailrunning Society (GUTS) and is free for GUTS members only. The event is described as low-key and post-holiday. A FatAss Crockpot Chili Contest will take place after the run; participants are asked to bring chili in crockpots. Hot food will be available at the finish and GUTS will supply bowls, utensils, and some toppings. Runners will receive ballots to vote for their favorite chili.
Course and logistics
The course consists of six loops on the white trails, all on trail with a few hills. Sections can be technical with roots, rocks, and boulders; the route will be marked with bright tape and flags. Poles are permitted. Start and finish are located at the Group Shelter. Parking is available at the Group Shelter lot or adjacent areas; a $5 state park parking fee is collected on arrival (or an annual park pass may be used). Packet pickup is at the group shelter on race morning. Lodging options listed include park yurts and nearby hotel accommodations.
