Course, support and logistics
The course is a USATF certified, paved 2-mile loop with winding curves and a few hills. The route runs down the ravine and passes through areas with native plants, trees, and historical landmarks. The 50-mile race has a strict 15-hour cutoff.
Tents and canopies may be set up on race day only; participants must keep their areas clean. A limited number of spots are reserved for solo (non-crewed) runners; remaining spots are first come, first served. Aid stations will offer staple foods and, on request, vegan, vegetarian, and fruitarian options. Hot items such as soups, sandwiches, and quesadillas will be available and can be prepared for the runner’s next lap. Runners must mark their own bottles; a table will be provided near the start/finish area for bottle drop-off and pickup. Personal lighting is mandatory for nighttime running. Race timing is provided by a professional timing service with regular data backups. Local amenities, including food, convenience stores, and hotels, are within about a 5-mile drive.
