About the race
Babbitt's Backyard Ultra is a last-person-standing race held at SP Crater in Flagstaff, Arizona. The course blends dirt trails and roads with about 150 feet of elevation gain, offering views of the crater and surrounding peaks. Each loop is 4.167 miles and must be completed within an hour, with the event repeating hourly until only one runner remains.
All surviving runners are tied for the lead each hour. Key rules include starting in the corral on time, one crew per runner, no personal aid, and no leaving the course except to use restrooms.
