Event overview
The Badlands Race Series takes place May 16-17, 2026 at Island Lake Recreation Area, Brighton, MI (6301 Kensington Rd). The event includes trail races that start and finish at a common hub and use the park's trail network. Two of the three races are held as night races and one is a daytime 50K.

Race format, entry and logistics
The 100K consists of two full loops of the 50K course. The event is limited to up to 450 participants, with each of the three divisions capped at 150 runners. Packet pickup will be held on the day before the night races and on the morning of the daytime 50K.
Pricing is tiered by date, with early bird and later registration prices listed for both 50K and 100K options. The total prize purse is $9,750; prize money is allocated for the Nightfall 50K and Overnight 100K while the Daybreak 50K has no prize purse. Registered entrants receive a tech hoody; finishers within cutoff receive finisher medals. The event is described as inaugural.
