The Bay Area Turkey Trot is the 17th annual running event in Houston, Texas, held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 27, 2025. The start and finish are at On the Run Clear Lake, 2427 Bay Area Blvd, Houston, TX 77058. Distances offered:
- Kids 1K
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run
The course is described as flat and runs through the neighborhoods of Clear Lake. Participants may bring a canine companion but retractable leashes are not allowed and runners should keep clear of others.
Logistics and safety
Packet pick-up is available at On the Run Clear Lake the day before the event and on race morning at the site. Donated items accepted at packet pick-up and on race day include gently used shoes and nonperishable food and paper goods; food donations are directed to Cross Roads at Park Place. There is a deadline to guarantee shirt sizes.
The organizer’s weather policy states rain alone will not cancel the event unless visibility becomes unsafe. Lightning within six miles prompts a 30-minute postponement each time it is detected. A tornado warning before or during the event will result in cancellation. The organizer may shorten race distances if road closures or public safety agreements require it.
