Course and qualifying status
Both races are point-to-point and run predominantly on the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail and the Continental Divide. The route follows the Continental Divide that forms the border between Idaho and Montana, with Idaho’s Lemhi River Valley to the west and Montana’s Big Hole Valley to the east. The 100K route leaves the official CDT at mile 49 but continues along the true Continental Divide border for about 5 more miles, then drops off the divide and descends toward the headwaters of Bohannon Creek and the finish. A shorter race covers the second half of the 100K course and starts near the Lemhi Pass aid station. The entire course stays at high elevation for this region and includes climbs, descents, flats, and technical sections. The 100K is a Western States 100 qualifier, and both races are UTMB index races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
