Because of the Brave 5K

The Because of the Brave 5K is a non-competitive event held annually on Memorial Day at American Village in Montevallo, Alabama. Participants run or walk a 5K course consisting of two laps around a 1.55-mile paved loop marked with American flags, suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. A unique feature requires each participant to carry a 2’x3’ American flag on a pole throughout the course to honor fallen heroes who sacrificed for the country’s freedom.
