About the race
BIG BAD RUCK is a multi-hour ruck challenge held on private ranch trails near Gilmer, Texas, at Pineywoods Valley Trails. The course uses a hilly dirt single-track layout built around a 2-mile loop, with about 130 feet of elevation gain per loop and creek crossings along the way. Ruck options include 3-, 6-, 12-, and 24-hour events.
The course is fully marked and supported, with aid stations, on-site photography, and a scenic piney woods setting. Participants earn wearables: 3-, 6-, 12-hour patches; a 24-hour jacket plus a DFL award; special 50-mile finishers’ award. Camping is available on-site; please bring your own water-carrying system as cups are not provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
