About the race
Set on the Bizz Johnson Trail in Lassen National Forest, this USATF-certified event offers a fast, mostly downhill course from Mason Station near Westwood to Susanville. Distances include 50K and Marathon (each a point-to-point race with a 929-foot net downhill and a 1,300-foot descent in the final 20 miles), plus Half Marathon, 10K, and Express Half Marathon. Runners traverse a rails-to-trails route along the former Fernley and Lassen Branch Line, with canyon scenery, ten river crossings over wooden bridges, and two old tunnels.
Notable features include cupless hydration via HydraPak, bus shuttles to remote starts, and finish-line shuttles at Hobo Camp. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
