Black Goose : event overview
The Black Goose offers three running distances on September 6, 2026, at Pierce Field / Pierce Memorial Stadium in East Providence, Rhode Island. Distances:
- Half marathon
- 10k
- 5k
The half marathon course is certified. All three races finish inside Pierce Memorial Stadium.
Course and logistics
The half marathon route heads out on Lyons Ave, continues on Veterans Memorial Parkway, and returns on the East Bay Bike Path with views of Narragansett Bay and the City of Providence. The event is chip timed. There is a 4 hour time limit for the half marathon.
There are seven water stations along the course and porta potties at mile 4. Packet pick up is race day only. All participants receive a finishers medal. Online registrants receive a t-shirt if they register by the stated deadline. Trophies are awarded to the overall male and female in the half marathon and 5k; age group awards are given for the half marathon only.
