Blackout - Emmaus, PA
Blackout in Emmaus, PA, is a rugged nighttime trail running event hosted by The Running Kind. The 10K course features challenging, technical mountainous terrain with over 1,000 feet of elevation gain on South Mountain. Participants can choose the "Lights On" option, starting at dusk before darkness falls, or embrace the full nighttime experience.
The event emphasizes sustainability as a zero carbon race, with a $1 registration fee dedicated to offsetting carbon emissions. It is self-supported with no aid stations on the course, but water and electrolytes are available at the start/finish. All finishers receive a race pin, and awards are given to top male, female, and non-binary runners.
