Blue Ducky 5K Waddle
The Blue Ducky 5K Waddle is an annual event in its third year. It is held in remembrance of a woman who helped save lives through organ, eye, and tissue donation. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Chris Klug Foundation. Registration opens December 1, 2025.

Location, course and event details
The event is based at Tickfaw State Park, 27225 Patterson Rd, Springfield, LA. The course runs on the park main entrance road, with participants running on the side of the road or on the grass. The course layout is an out-and-back of 1.55 miles each way, passing a water area and finishing near the River Trail head. Bathrooms are next to the start/finish and parking is available throughout the park. The park features a nature center, an 800-gallon aquarium, and boardwalks through several ecosystems.
All participants receive a shirt and sunglasses, plus fruit salad and a breakfast sandwich. Awards are given to the top male and top female finishers after the final participant completes the course. Strollers and dogs are not allowed on the course. Closed-ear headphones are discouraged; open-ear headphones are welcome. Refunds are not issued for unforeseen circumstances; in inclement weather the event schedule may be adjusted and flooding or storms may affect the race.
