Bohemian Alps 50K (Brainard, NE)
The event is the 31st annual ultramarathon of about 50K (noted as "33 miles or so") on rolling hills, gravel and dirt roads through Butler and Saunders counties. The course includes some bike trail and cross country sections and very little pavement. It is a crew-friendly loop that starts and finishes at a house in downtown Brainard.
Water and aid stops are provided periodically. Long sleeve shirts are given to all entrants and a finisher's award is provided. There are no time limits. A post-race food and drink social is held. Lodging is available in nearby towns and free camping is available in Brainard.

The Half Marathon is the 42nd annual edition and is a scenic, hilly loop on gravel and dirt roads. Its route includes about 1 mile of bike trail, 2 miles of off-road cross country course, and 1 mile of pavement. Water stops are placed every 3-4 miles. T-shirts are provided to entrants and medals to finishers. Post-race barbecue and showers are available. The half marathon entry fee is $80 and the start and finish are at 213 Madison Street in downtown Brainard.
The 4 Mile run is mostly gravel and dirt with 1 mile of pavement; shirts to entrants and medals to finishers; fee $60. The Kids Mile is 1 mile of pavement; shirts to entrants and ribbons to finishers; fee $25. Race day registration is welcome for these races.
