Backyard Nonsense is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Richard Bong State Recreation Area near Vern Wolf Lake in Brighton, Wisconsin. The event takes place at 26313 Burlington Rd, Kansasville, WI 53139. Courses are marked and run through the state recreation area, with rolling hills and lake-side sections.

Registration, access and policies
Registration closes on Wed, Jun 3. Vehicles attending the event must have a 2026 Wisconsin State Park pass; a day pass can be purchased at park entry for those without one. The event is organized by CUSS Running (Curious Ultrarunner’s Secret Society).
The organizer offers free entry codes for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ athletes while funds last; codes are not advertised publicly and no additional disclosure is required to receive one. The event accepts each entrant’s declared gender at face value and does not require supporting evidence. Organizers will amend registration records to record desired pronouns after registration.
