Born to Run 5 Mile Race
The Born to Run 5 Mile Race, organized by the Freehold Area Running Club, is an annual event held in Freehold, New Jersey. Now in its 39th year, the race takes runners through downtown Freehold, quiet neighborhoods, and around scenic Lake Topanemus before finishing back in town. The event includes a 5-mile race open to ages 10 to 100, a special category for current FARC members, and a 1-mile kids' race for ages 7 to 14.
The race fosters a friendly atmosphere with over 400 participants expected and supports the Freehold Open Door Food Pantry, continuing its mission of "Fighting Hunger in Your Hometown." Participants receive a shirt and finisher's medal, and local post-race festivities include a stop at the Court Jester for refreshments.
