Event overview
Born to Run is the Freehold Area Running Club's 39th annual 5 mile race in Freehold, New Jersey, held on Friday, November 28, 2025. The course begins in Downtown Freehold, runs through local neighborhoods and around Lake Topanemus, and finishes back in town. Proceeds benefit the Freehold Open Door Food Pantry. Organizers expect more than 400 runners. All finishers receive a shirt and a finishers medal. Donation collection points are at the finish line and at the firehouse.

Awards are given to the top overall male and female, and to the top three male and female finishers in age groups from 14 & under through 90+, with a category for racewalkers.
Registration and logistics
Online registration is available via RunSignUp and a paper application is provided. The event lists a tiered fee schedule by postmark: $30 (postmarked by July 16), $35 (by October 28), $40 (by November 19), and $50 after November 19. FARC members have a pre-registration rate of $25 if postmarked by November 19; otherwise $50. The kids 1 mile has a $10 fee and its registration window ends November 21.
Packet pickup is offered before the race at Runner's High (130 Schanck Road) on November 25 and at the Freehold Fire Department (49 West Main) on race day. The race is centered at Court Street and Lafayette Street, Freehold, NJ. Local parking is metered with posted hourly rates. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
