Breakneck Point Trail Runs

Website

Breakneck Point Trail Runs, hosted by Red Newt Racing, take place at University Settlement Camp in Beacon, NY. The event offers two challenging distances: a half marathon of 14.5 miles with approximately 4,800 feet of elevation gain, and a full marathon of 26.4 miles with about 9,000 feet of gain. Known as one of the toughest trail marathons in the Northeast, the course features technical and steep terrain including jeep trails, single-track paths, and the signature Breakneck Point climb—famous for its steep, exposed, and scenic nature.

Runners experience significant elevation changes and technical footing, making it suitable only for seasoned trail runners. The race includes aid stations with various refreshments and offers camping and lodging options nearby. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
