Event overview
The 12th Annual Buckeye Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run takes place on January 10, 2026 at Buckeye Municipal Airport and nearby Sun City Festival in Buckeye, Arizona. The event uses a USATF certified course and is listed as a Boston qualifier. All in-person events are chip timed.

The marathon route begins in Sun City Festival, drops over 530 feet in elevation from start to finish, and ends on the runway at Buckeye Municipal Airport. The half, 10K, 5K and 1 Mile start and finish at the airport on out-and-back segments with views of the White Tank Mountains.
Course support, entries and logistics
The marathon has a course closure time of 6 hours (minimum pace 13:45 per mile); the half marathon has a 5-hour closure. Aid stations on the marathon are roughly every two miles through mile 20 and every mile after; water stations for the half marathon and 5K are at every mile. GU Energy gels are provided at marathon miles 8, 16 and 22 and at half marathon mile 8.5. Restrooms are located about every two miles.
All finishers in the in-person events receive a custom medal and a dri-fit tech shirt. Virtual participants (U.S. addresses only) receive mailed gear after the event. There are no refunds; transfers to virtual or deferrals to 2027 are allowed up to specified deadlines before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
