Event overview
The Burning River Endurance Runs & Relay is the 20th annual edition held in Northeast Ohio on July 25–26, 2026. The event route passes through Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Summit Metro Parks. The race weekend includes solo and team options and benefits the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Summit Metro Parks Foundation, and Boston Township. Lodging is available at the Sheraton Suites Akron Cuyahoga Falls near the event start/finish; a special room block is offered through the event.
Courses, entries and policies
Distances offered:
- 100M (out-and-back from Cuyahoga Falls to Silver Springs Park and back)
- 50M (point-to-point from Cuyahoga Falls to Silver Springs Park)
- Back Half 50M (point-to-point from Silver Springs Park to Cuyahoga Falls)
- Marathon (point-to-point from Oak Hill to Silver Springs Park)
- 8 Person Relay (out-and-back, same course as the 100M)
Approximate elevation gain is 8,000 ft for the 100M, 4,000 ft for the 50M, and 2,000 ft for the Marathon. The 50 Mile event is designated the 2025 RRCA Central Region Championship 50M. Awards include top 3 overall male and female and five-year age-group awards; relay awards include top men’s, women’s, co-ed, and co-ed masters teams. Registration fees vary by period (examples: 100M $270–$320; 50M $160–$210; Marathon $95–$125; relay $80 per person). Fundraising options can waive fees if fundraising minimums are met (100M $750; 50M $500; Marathon $300; Relay $300 per person). Refund, transfer, and cancellation policies are published; notable points: 50% refunds for 100M/50M available by May 31 via RunSignup, no refunds for Marathon/Relay, no deferrals, and relay bib transfers allowed for a fee.
