About the race
The Butterfly 5K is an annual running event held in Waynesboro, Tennessee, supporting the Butterfly Foundation, which provides financial aid to families with children facing life-threatening illnesses. The event features a 5K race with age group awards for both male and female participants, including wheelchair divisions, and a 1-mile fun run for children 12 and under. The first 550 finishers receive medals, and all paid entrants get T-shirts.
The race fosters a supportive and community-focused atmosphere, honoring the memory of Ryleigh Meree Stegall, whose battle with leukemia inspired the foundation. The event combines competitive racing with family-friendly activities to raise funds and awareness. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
