Event
The Canal Corridor 100 miles Endurance Run is scheduled for October 11-12, 2025, in Northeast Ohio. The race is a USATF certified and sanctioned course for 2025 and is a Western States Endurance Run qualifier for 2025. Traditionally the start and finish are at Missing Falls Brewery in downtown Akron. The event donates profits to the Conservancy for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Canalway Partners and the Ohio and Erie Canal Coalition. Financial assistance may be available for runners with limited funds.
Course and support
The course follows the Ohio & Erie Canalway Towpath Trail, running north from Akron to Canal Basin Park in the Flats of downtown Cleveland and returning to Akron; the final course depends on permitting by local jurisdictions. The trail surface is approximately 70% crushed limestone and 30% asphalt or concrete. Total elevation gain over the course is about 2,300 feet. Aid and water stations are placed roughly every 4 to 5.5 miles, alternating between staffed full aid stations and unstaffed water and gel stations. Full aid stations offer water, electrolyte drink and various food items, including hot food at night. Packet pickup, drop bag procedures and volunteer meetings are part of the pre-race operations.
