Event overview
The Candy Cane 5K is a candy cane themed run on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Langhorne, PA at Cairn University (200 Manor Avenue). The event includes in-person distances and a virtual option. Registrants receive a long sleeve, custom race shirt, candy canes, hot chocolate with marshmallows, Christmas cookies, water, and bananas. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers and for Christmas-themed costumes for individuals and teams of three or more.
Course, distances, logistics and fees
The course uses paved roads across the Cairn University campus and surrounding neighborhood streets and is described as rolling terrain. Distances:
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- 1-mile fun run/walk
- Virtual run (participate Friday, December 6–Monday, December 9)
Fees for in-person events are listed as $35 for pre-registration and $40 on-site; alumni, faculty and staff rate is $30 and student rate is $20. The virtual run fee is listed at $40. Price increases after December 5, 2025. There will be no parking in lots D or E on race day; event parking signs direct attendees to lot C (near the pond) or the upper portion of campus. The 5K awards include top 3 male and female overall winners, age group awards, and costume prizes. The event raises funds for the New Horizon Scholarship Fund at Cairn University, which supports students who are new mothers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
