The Carolina Ugly Sweater event takes place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Jetton Village, Cornelius, NC (19818 N. Cove Road, 28031). The event includes a festive 5K and a 1K Elf Run, with the 1K recommended for children aged 10 and under. Walkers, strollers and pets are allowed in the 5K. The event is held rain or shine. Entry, packet pickup and awards

Registration fees listed on the event page are $32 for the 5K and $12 for the 1K. The registration price increases after October 30, 2025, and registration closes on December 7, 2025. Early packet pick up is available the day before the race at Penny Lane, formerly The Cornelius Drafthouse; race day packet pick up is near the gazebo by H2 Public House and Penny Lane.

Each participant receives event items and vouchers, including a coupon for a free chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A, a free donut ticket, an Ugly Sweater race cup, and a race ornament for registrations completed before December 1. Adults over 21 receive two drink tickets. An optional event t-shirt is available for $10 until November 25 and $15 thereafter. Awards include trophies and gift cards for overall top male and female, trophies for top stroller finishers, age group awards, top three in the 1K under-11 category, and a best overall costume prize.
