Event overview
The Catamount Ultra takes place at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont on June 20, 2026. The event offers two distances:

- 25K
Race participant capacity is 600. Entry fees listed for 2026 are $135 for the 50K and $115 for the 25K (registration fees and Vermont state use tax are added). Fees increase after April 30 and are higher on race day. Refunds are available minus a $25 service fee if requested by May 15; no refunds after that date. Online registration closes June 18 and packet pickup is available June 19 at the Von Trapp Brewery Bierhall.
Course and race details
The 25k course is primarily wide, hard-packed dirt trail that rolls through highland pastures and hardwood forest and circumnavigates the Trapp Family Lodge trail system at the foot of Mount Mansfield. Each 25k loop has approximately 2,500 ft of elevation gain and 2,500 ft of loss; the 50k consists of two loops (about 5,000 ft gain and 5,000 ft loss total). The course includes three aid stations (miles 4.6, 9.4, and the start/finish area); 25k runners access two stations. The race is cup-free; runners are encouraged to carry hydration and personal fuel. A designated area at the start/finish is available for 50k drop bags. Spectators and crews are welcome, but vehicle access on course is limited to the start/finish area. A 9-hour overall time limit applies to the 50k. Prizes will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers in each distance; no cash prizes are listed.
