Cave Creek Thriller

Located in Cave Creek, Arizona, the Cave Creek Thriller Trail Runs offer four distances: 50K, 24K, 11K, and 5K. The 50K and 24K are point-to-point courses along the Maricopa Trail from the Agua Fria Trailhead near Lake Pleasant to Cave Creek Regional Park, finishing inside the park; the 11K and 5K stay entirely within Cave Creek Regional Park on Go John, Quartz and Overton Trails. Runners encounter rugged desert scenery, steep rocky sections, and long sun-exposed climbs with sweeping Sonoran Desert views.

Elevation gains vary by distance (up to about 2,800 feet for the 50K). Special features include a cup-less policy, aid stations, park shuttle service, a charity beer garden, live tracking, and it serves as the inaugural race in Aravaipa Running’s Desert Runner Trail Series.
