Event overview

The Charlton Park Dryland Battle Sled Dog Race takes place Saturday and Sunday, December 6-7, 2025, at Historic Charlton Park, 2545 S. Charlton Park Rd., Hastings, MI 49058. The event is presented by the Great Lakes Sled Dog Association (GLSDA). Trails at the park combine grassy and gravel terrain through woods and fields. Most classes will run a 2.0 mile trail. A shorter, TBD mileage trail will be used for junior canicross and the Saturday-only Fun Run.

The event includes multiple race classes such as 6 Dog Rig, 4 Dog Rig, 2 Dog Scooter, 2 Dog Bikejor, 1 Dog Scooter, 1 Dog Bikejor, men’s and women’s canicross, junior wheeled and junior rig classes, and a Fun Run. Entry fees vary by class; for example, the Fun Run fee is $10 and some rig classes list fees up to $60. Entries close on Tuesday, December 2, 2025; no late entries or changes are permitted after entries close.

GLSDA membership is required to race and must be paid before racing. Rules and required equipment include no whips, no wrist ropes or driver restraints, helmets required in all wheeled classes, eye protection recommended, and a snub line required on 6- and 4-dog rigs while on trail.
