Event information
The Christmas Star Run and Tree Lighting takes place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Christian City campus in Union City, Georgia (7345 Red Oak Road, Union City, GA 30291). The event includes two running events:
- 5K
- 1-mile run/walk
Race and event features
The course is described as flat and runs through Christian City’s nearly 500-acre campus. The 5K is an AJC Peachtree Road Race qualifier and offers awards for multiple age groups. The evening program includes an annual tree lighting, carolers, holiday lights and costumes, music, food trucks, the Coca-Cola holiday truck, refreshments, and photos with Santa. Glow wear is provided and prizes are given for best holiday costumes. Proceeds benefit Christian City’s five Children & Family Programs. The campus also provides housing and services for seniors and for children and families facing challenges such as poverty, homelessness, neglect and abuse, as noted in event materials.
