Event overview
The CircumBurke trail event takes place on November 1 at Victory Hill Trail Club, 2872 Victory Hill Rd, Victory, VT 05858. The main trail run is a roughly 18-mile loop on singletrack, road, and cart trail with about 1800 ft of elevation gain. The course includes a few short steep rocky sections that require mountain running skills. All event proceeds will be re-invested in trail maintenance on Victory Hill.
The overall capacity is 320 participants, with a maximum of 80 per field. Mountain trail runners start 5 to 10 minutes after the mountain bike races; the two events share most of the same course except the final steep technical 1.5-mile descents, which use separate trails. The Victory Hill trail network will be closed to other recreation on the event day.
Course and logistics
There are three drink stations with snacks located at about every 5 miles. A food truck (Tacos Del Reino) will sell meals on site; these purchases are not included in the entry fee. Each entrant over 21 will be offered one Dirt Church beer and Athletic Brewing non-alcoholic beer. Victory Hill clothing and beer glasses will be available for donations to support trail maintenance.
Timing uses chipless hand timing by volunteers; unofficial times will be posted later and may not be perfectly accurate. Leashed dogs are welcome at the event area but should not be brought onto the trails or racecourse. Entry fees increase by $10 on October 13; onsite registration costs $10 more. Volunteers receive a T-shirt and lunch. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
