Event overview
Climb It For Climate is a mountain trail event at Belleayre Mountain Ski Center in Highmount, New York on August 16, 2026. The event offers the following distances:
- 25K
- 8K
The event includes an early-start hiking option for those who prefer to hike the course. Donations collected through registration and a raffle will support The Catskill Center. The organizer includes a fee in registration to offset carbon emissions as part of a zero carbon approach.
Course and aid stations
The 25K course is described at about 15 to 16 miles with roughly 5000 feet of climbing and descending on mixed, difficult terrain; runners and hikers are advised to download the course map. The 8K course is about 5 miles with approximately 1400 feet of gain and descent and runs on ski slopes at Belleayre. The event is cupless; water and electrolyte mix will be available at the start/finish area and at two aid stations on the 25K course. Participants should bring personal hydration. Plant-based aid will be supplied on course. The 25K includes aid locations noted at roughly 8 miles, 11 miles, and 12.5 miles and there are course cutoffs at those locations.
Weekend activities and support
The event weekend includes a shakeout run, bib pickup, a pre-race dinner with vegan and gluten-free options, and a live podcast. A spring training camp is offered earlier in the season. Gently worn shoes are accepted for donation to Sneakers 4 Good. Volunteer roles include course marking, aid station support, and sweepers.
