The Coalfields Backyard Ultra is a challenging endurance running event held in Williamson, West Virginia, at the Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College. This Lazarus Lake-sanctioned race features a 4.1667-mile out-and-back asphalt loop along the West Williamson Flood wall river path, passing local landmarks such as a school and community center. Participants run one loop every hour, aiming to be the last runner standing, with no artificial aid allowed on the course.
