Colorado Cold Rush Ultra
The Colorado Cold Rush Ultra, held in Colorado Springs at Bear Creek Regional Park, is a winter trail running event featuring 50K, half marathon, and 10K distances. Known as the "coolest" winter race, it offers runners a scenic course along historic High Drive and through tunnels from the Colorado gold rush era. The 50K route climbs from 6,175 to 9,090 feet elevation, showcasing stunning views of Colorado Springs and traversing Gold Camp Road.
The half marathon also covers historic High Drive, while the 10K explores lower elevation dirt trails with slight technical footing. Well-stocked aid stations, personalized bibs, and post-race meals enhance the experience. The event embraces winter conditions, including possible snow, making it a unique challenge for trail runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
