Courses, aid and access
The 50k is an out-and-back course that begins at Bear Creek Regional Park, climbs historic High Drive, continues on Gold Camp Road, and turns around at the Gold Camp and Old Stage Road intersection. The published elevation range is 6,175′ to 9,090′ with an elevation gain of about 5,500′. The Half Marathon is an out-and-back route up and over historic High Drive with a listed elevation gain of 2,847′. The 10k uses lower elevation sections of the course on 100% dirt trail, with slight technical footing toward the out-and-back section.
Aid stations are listed along each course and are described as well stocked with Tailwind, Muir Energy gels, snacks, fruit and soda. The Cheyenne Canon aid station also offers warm food options. Bear Creek Regional Park has designated parking with attendants directing vehicles to the northwest section of the lot. North Cheyenne Canon is accessible by low clearance and 2WD; the Gold Stage aid station accesses Old Stage Road, which is narrow, winding and washboarded at times, and 4WD is recommended when snow is likely. Travel times to the area are noted from Colorado Springs and Denver airports. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
