Event overview
The Colorado Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2026, in Fort Collins, Colorado. The event offers four race distances:
- Full Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
The race weekend takes place in the Poudre Canyon and surrounding natural areas near Fort Collins. The event was designated the RRCA Colorado State Marathon Championship in 2023, 2024, and 2025. In recent years the event has produced roughly 16–18% of Boston Marathon qualifiers. When a distance reaches capacity, a limited number of "Charity Fund" entries are available at double price; once those are sold the distance is closed.
Course and operations
The courses run in a mountain setting along the Cache La Poudre River. The full marathon is described as a downhill course. The 10K is an out-and-back route through Fort Collins natural areas; the 5K follows routes through local natural habitats. Registration and race management include an expo on Friday and Saturday of race weekend where entrants may register or change to a shorter distance, provided that distance has not reached capacity. The event uses digital registration and an e-goody bag to reduce paper waste and aims to limit disposable paper at packet pickup. The listed race address is 301 Maple St., Fort Collins, CO 80521.
