Event overview
The Community First Thanksgiving Distance Classic takes place on November 27, 2025, at Pickwick Plaza, 9850 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL. The event offers the following distances:
- Half Marathon
- 5K
- One mile Turkey Trot
This will be the 42nd running of the Thanksgiving Distance Classic, which began in 1984. The original half marathon started at Flynn Park and finished at Pickwick Park Shopping Center; the finish location remains at Pickwick.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the Mandarin Food Bank and will also provide funds to help build and maintain a three-mile running and walking path in Aterro Recreation Park on Sunbeam Road.
Logistics and awards
Packet pickup is available at selected 1st Place Sports locations on Tuesday, November 25 and Wednesday, November 26. Race swag includes a long-sleeve moisture-wicking shirt, a finisher medal, a race bib, and a goodie bag. All finishers in the Half Marathon, 5K, and one mile receive a finisher medal.
The course will have digital clocks at each mile and at the finish, marked miles and turns, and traffic control by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office; there is a 3.5 hour course limit. The Half Marathon awards cash prizes for top three male and female finishers ($500, $300, $200) and a masters prize of $100. 5K and Half Marathon age-group awards are also given. Post-race food and drink are provided near the finish. Free beer is offered at a nearby pub with a race bib, limit one per participant while supplies last.
