Community of Care 5K
The 4Y5K: Community of Care is an annual 5K running event held in Charlottesville, Virginia, organized by the University of Virginia's Peer Health Educators. Traditionally held on the morning of the last home football game, the race honors the memory of Leslie Baltz and promotes bystander intervention and safer behaviors among students. In recent years, it has expanded to emphasize collective well-being, especially following the 2022 tragedy involving UVA football players.
The event fosters community spirit and supports causes like the Leslie Baltz Art Study Fund and ReadyKids Charlottesville. Participants receive a chipped bib and access to food and entertainment. The course and start time may vary with the football schedule. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
