Copper Collar 5K, hosted by the Man in the Sea Museum and the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center, is a chip-timed 5K run or walk in downtown Panama City, FL. It features a fast, flat course along historic streets starting at Harrison Avenue and East 4th Street, with commemorative shirts, gift bags, and awards for top finishers. Participants celebrate with music, refreshments, and museum exhibits after the finish.

Known as The Original Heavy Metal 5K, the race honors copper diving helmets and the city’s deep-sea heritage, a tradition dating back to 1982 when it ran at the Navy base and St. Andrews State Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
