Crazy Desert Trail Race - San Angelo, TX

Website

The Crazy Desert Trail Race is a trail run held at San Angelo State Park in San Angelo, Texas. Organized by the San Angelo Road Lizards, a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) club, the event offers 5K, 10K, 13.1, 25K, 26.2, 50K, and 100K distances. Runners navigate a desert-themed course with cactus-filled fields, rocky hills, and a finish along a creek, featuring fast desert trails, Permian dinosaur tracks, and a TPWD Longhorn herd.

The race fosters a supportive community atmosphere and fully stocked aid stations every 4–5 miles, with volunteers providing chips, grilled cheese, candy, pie, and longer-distance treats like Chick‑fil‑A and pizza. Sponsorship keeps registration affordable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
