Course, terrain and logistics
The course includes about 23,000 ft of vertical gain and reaches up to 10,200 ft elevation. Terrain is primarily single track with extreme technical ascents and descents, scree fields, steep climbs and drops, long sections with no trail, two-track, and occasional forest service road. The route crosses private ranches and public forest service land and traverses the Indigenous lands of the Apsaalooke, also called Awaxaawippíia. Two family-owned ranches host the start and finish, and the finish area includes camping along a creek and a post-race awards celebration on Saturday night. Complete qualifying criteria and the full rules are available from the race website. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
