Creede Mountain Run
The Creede Mountain Run, held in Creede, Colorado, is a scenic and challenging mountain race established in 1987. Set in the historic mining town at 8,850 feet elevation, the event offers four race distances: 2 miles, 12 miles, 22 miles, and a 50K ultra. The courses wind through the stunning San Juan Mountains, featuring steep climbs, historic mining sites, and rugged terrain including sections known as "the Pitch," "Heartbreak Hill," and "The Ladders." The 22-mile and 50K routes reach elevations up to 12,500 feet along the Continental Divide, exposing runners to variable mountain weather.
The race starts in town, passes through scenic canyons, and finishes back in Creede, providing a unique mountain running experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
