The Dash Around the Point is a road race at Hains Point in Washington, DC, offering 5k and 10k distances:

The course runs on a paved road around Hains Point alongside the river. It is described as flat. The 5k is an out-and-back once; the 10k follows the same loop twice. The route provides views of the Potomac River, the Wharf, and occasional plane sightings from National Airport. Walkers and strollers are welcome. Points from the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series and toward the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. The event benefits Team RWB DC. Registered participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. The Back of the Pack pace time for this course is listed as 11:00.
Logistics and services
Packet pickup is available at the event. There will be no on-site race registration. T-shirts are guaranteed to runners registered before February 11; additional shirts may be available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fee structure is provided for each distance, with listed early and later prices and a stated price increase on race morning.

- 5 water stations are placed along the 10k at about mile 1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1, and 5.2.
- 2 water stations are on the 5k at about mile 1 and 2.1.
Gatorade will be available at some stations. Port-a-johns are located near the start/finish area. Live results will be posted online and via an on-site QR code; final results and series points are posted the Monday after the event. Volunteers are assigned tasks on race morning. The organizer runs the event in most weather conditions and will notify registered participants if changes occur. Parking is available around Hains Point; a GPS address and lat/long are provided for directions.
