Course and logistics
The course is a single loop of roughly 10 km. 10K runners complete one loop; half-marathon runners complete two loops with a short extra lollipop section on each lap to reach 13.1 miles. The route starts near the beach, climbs away from the water, reaches a high point near the Nightcrawler aid station, then returns with mostly rolling downhill sections. Trails are described as non-technical singletrack with a short set of stairs and several bridges.
Elevation gain and aid stations are published: Half marathon: 1600 ft with aid stations at about 2.3, 6.8, and 9.1 miles; 10K: 800 ft with an aid station at about 1.75 miles. Trails remain open to other users during the event. All entrants must carry a refillable container because the event is cupless. Parking at the state park is limited and requires a Discover Pass; 10K runners are shuttled from Lakota Middle School. Online registration closes the Friday before the race. The organizer is Evergreen Trail Runs; the event has a no-refund policy with options to defer, transfer, or switch entries for a fee. Finisher awards are handmade.
